An Introduction to Beadweaving
run by Madeleine Eve

Details of
NEW 5 week course to be held at Chequer, East Street in Rye

Beadweaving is a huge subject but to start this course I would like to show you some
better known stitches and guide you in the purchase of beads and equipment to help
you get started on a project.

Each meeting will last 2 hours and explore a new stitch each week. There will be a
demonstration and practice for the first hour (with a printed sheet to help you when
you try it at home). If you can spare the time, you are welcome to stay longer to
continue beading and use my collection of beading and design books to extend your
knowledge. As with any craft, practice helps improve skills like nothing else can and
an hour or so working at home between classes will help you greatly.

Suggested topics to be covered:

Spiral stitch
Peyote stitch
Herringbone stitch
Square stitch
Brick stitch

It may be that having seen my samples, you want to do a specific project - this list
can be changed and I am happy to teach a specific stich separately.

Time and day to be arranged bearing in mind that daylight makes things a lot easier
